The San Juan River Quality Waters in Northwest New Mexico is ranked among the top trout fishing destinations in the US (if not the world). Ideal habitat for browns and rainbows, it boasts up to 15,000 fish per mile. Some experienced anglers become complacent with 20 fish days and 20” fish. A fall float in this remarkable high desert canyon with the cottonwood trees dressed up in hues of gold is an unforgettable experience in and of itself. Don’t let the numbers or the gentle tail waters fool you. The fishing can be highly technical, and landing a 24” brown with a size 24 midge on 6x tippet is a rewarding experience for rookie and veteran anglers alike. The San Juan’s friendliest and fishiest guides have been hand-selected for you, to increase your odds of having a fish-full trip.

Schedule and Accommodations
September 23 - 27, 2024
Day 1:
Arrive at the Rainbow Lodge and meet the ladies/guides you will be spending the next few days with.
6:30 pm - Appetizers & Dinner at the lodge
Day 2:
7:00 to 8:00 am - Breakfast
8:30 am - Meet your guide and shuttle to the river with your guide for a day of fully-guided fishing, lunch will be provided on the boat.
6:30 pm - Appetizers & Dinner at the lodge
Day 3:
7:00 to 8:00 am - Breakfast
8:30 am - Meet your guide and shuttle to the river with your guide for a day of fully-guided fishing, lunch will be provided on the boat.

Target Fish: Large Rainbow and Brown Trout in the World Class Fishery of the San Juan Quality Waters. It is not unusual to land 20” rainbows or browns, with fish in the mid-20 to 30” range caught every year!

Shared Room : $2,350 / Person
Private Room: $2,500 / Person
Length of Stay: 3 days float fishing, 4 nights lodging
Includes: 3 days of fully-guided float fishing, 4 nights of lodging in two bedroom suites, 4 breakfasts, 3 lunches on the water, 4 dinners, transportation to and from fishing spots, fly fishing equipment (flies, rods, reels, terminal tackle, etc.)
Does not include: Waders, Wading Boots, New Mexico Fishing License, Transportation to/from Airports
Cancellation / refund policy: 50% of trip cost due at time of booking, last 50% of trip cost due 60 days prior to the trip date. Should you cancel your trip, a refund will be made only if your space can be filled, minus a 10% service charge. We make no refunds nor assume any additional expenses if weather or any reason beyond our control renders you unable to complete a trip or any other part of an itinerary. We reserve the right to cancel a trip because of low enrollment or other circumstances and will refund all funds paid to us in such a case.

Durango - La Plata County Airport (DRO) is the primary regional airport for southwest CO, northwest NM and the Four Corners - 1 hour (45 miles)
Albuquerque International Sunport - 3 hours & 45 min. (212 miles)
Rainbow Lodge will provide transportation for $200/trip, capacity 5 riders, to and from DRO
Documents required: Photo ID / Passport and New Mexico Fishing License
Trip Cancellation Insurance: We recommend that you acquire trip cancellation insurance and/or purchase Global Rescue trip evacuation insurance.
