Grosvenor Lodge

Grosvenor is a small, remote fishing lodge in the Katmai National Park. Hosting only six guests at a time, it is an intimate setting while still providing comfortable accommodations and chef-prepared meals. There is an excellent home fishery within walking distance that boasts one of the largest runs of sockeye salmon in the world.

Fishing

Grosvenor Lodge operates in Alaska’s Katmai National Park at the confluence of Lake Grosvenor and Lake Coville. This area is known as “The Narrows,” where massive runs of sockeye salmon funnel through and fuel a rich fishery. Anglers have access to a wide range of waters including the Narrows itself, surrounding lakes, secluded feeder creeks, the lower American Creek, and fly-out destinations. Across these locations, fishing opportunities vary seasonally but center on species such as rainbow trout, lake trout, Arctic char, Dolly Varden, northern pike, and sockeye salmon (primarily mid-July to early August), with peak action often driven by salmon runs and smolt migrations that attract large predatory fish into accessible, shallow waters.

For non-angler guests or in addition to fishing Grosvenor Lodge offers nearby bear viewing or the option to fly out to Brooks Falls.

Accommodations

There are three guest cabins on-site with electricity and heat. All cabins include one twin-sized bed and a twin-sized bunk bed. There is a renovated bathhouse near the cabins that has two private restrooms, including showers. A small main lodge houses a lounge area and bar where complimentary cocktails are served daily. The lodge chef prepares meals daily that are served in a dining area overlooking Grosvenor Lake.
