Big Sky Dreamin’ | 2026
WFF in Big Sky Country
There’s something special about gathering a group of women in Big Sky Country, and this trip was no exception.
Thursday
Our adventure began as everyone arrived at the lodge, excited for a few days of fishing, learning, laughter, and making new friendships. After settling in, we kicked things off with appetizers, drinks, and a delicious dinner before calling it an early night. With the Missouri River waiting for us in the morning, everyone was eager to rest up for the days ahead.
Friday
Day two greeted us with sunshine, warm temperatures, and excitement as we floated the middle section of the Missouri River. It didn’t take long before rods were bending and smiles were growing. Every lady brought multiple brown and rainbow trout to the boat as we began dialing in our casting, mending, and fish-fighting skills. We enjoyed a riverside lunch with incredible views before finishing the float. Back at the lodge, we gathered in the Caddis Shack to swap fish stories, celebrate everyone’s successes, and share plenty of laughs before another fantastic dinner.
Saturday
The sunshine and warm weather continued on day three as we floated the upper section of the Missouri River. The crystal-clear water treated us to the unforgettable sight of thousands of trout beneath the surface, making every drift feel like an aquarium tour with fly rods in hand. We spent much of the day targeting beautiful rainbow trout while continuing to build confidence with every cast. As the temperature continued to rise throughout the day, we took advantage of the cool river water and enjoyed a short swim. After another memorable day on the water, we enjoyed dinner before sneaking in some sunset casting practice. As the sky turned shades of pink and purple, we fine-tuned our loops before wrapping up the evening with card games, dice games, and plenty more laughter.
Sunday
Our final day took us to the lower section of the Missouri River with one mission in mind: Big Brown Trout. The river certainly delivered. Fish after fish found their way to the boats as everyone put the skills they’d developed throughout the week into action. It was the perfect way to cap off an incredible adventure, showcasing just how much everyone had grown as anglers over the course of four days.
As we packed our bags, exchanged hugs, and said goodbye to our new fishing friends, it was clear we were taking home much more than photos of beautiful trout. We left with new skills, unforgettable memories, countless laughs, and friendships that will last long after our adventure to the Missouri River. We can’t wait to do it again next summer!
